The choice of frame rate significantly affects film appearance and is an important story-telling tool, but control over frame rate is very limited. This paper shows how to emulate continuously varying frame rates on an ordinary display and how to use them to automatically adjust the look of a film.

By allocating two visual experiences of ordinary stereoscopic display to different audiences, this method accomplishes visual sharing between color-vision deficiencies and normal-vision audiences. By wearing the stereoscopic glasses, color-vision-deficient viewers identify originally indistinguishable colors. Without the stereoscopic glasses, normal-vision viewers see the original colors simultaneously.
