Science of the Unseen: Digital Art Perspectives

Tuesday, 26 July, 10:45 am - 12:15 pm

Science of the Unseen: Digital Art Perspectives is a special presentation of the online video exhibition sponsored by the ACM SIGGRAPH Digital Arts Community. Co-Curators Phil J. Gough and Lindsay Zackeroff, along with several artists and exhibition committee members, discuss the works and issues that emerged from the open call. The artworks creatively pose questions of scale and how unseen processes animate larger effects. Their main focus is how art can be both inspired by and resistant to accepted scientific practices for visualizing the world. How does art represent and empower the relationships between micro and macro, unseen and seen, situated and global that would otherwise be invisible? What can art see that science cannot see alone? Attendees are encouraged to join the discussion.
